An international wholesaler specialising in East Asian food is currently recruiting a Legal Manager to work in their Amstelveen office.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing legal support to the whole group companies in the EMEA region, ensuring compliance with EU regulations, and managing a contract management system across EMEA.
The ideal candidate should have strong communication skills, legal expertise, and the ability to work across cultures effectively.

TYPE: Initially a 1-year contract, followed by a permanent contract upon completion
WORKING HOURS: Monday to Friday (37.5hours per week)
SALARY: Up to €100k including holiday allowance and bonus
START: ASAP
LOCATION: Amstelveen, The Netherlands

Legal Manager Main Responsibilities:
● Design, implement and manage a contract management system across EMEA
● Review, amend and support the execution of relevant contracts
● Overview and be up to date to significant legal cases in EMEA
● Report to the HQ Legal in a timely manner and collaborate on appropriate actions
● Provide EMEA support to the HQ regulatory compliance initiatives like those related to EUDR and GDPR
● Propose and implement measures to ensure compliance from a legal perspective
● Support the NL team with any required ad hoc legal advice (contract assessment, review legal documents etc.)

Legal Manager Ideal Candidate:
● At least 5 years of practical European legal experience
● Holding Bachelor’s degree in law (Master’s degree in law preferred)
● Extensive legal knowledge and experience in contract law, regulatory compliance, corporate law and M&A
● Strong communicator; verbal and written
● Ability to work effectively with remote and cross-border teams
● Organized and pragmatic
● Team player which moves easily between different cultures
● Full proficiency in business-level English (both spoken and written)
● Proficiency in German, Italian, French, Dutch and/or Japanese would be advantageous
● Preferably qualified attorney
● Preferably international legal knowledge/experience (especially related to GDPR and EUDR)
● Preferably legal experience in a Japanese multinational corporation
● Preferably experience in risk management and compliance
