A Japanese manufacturer is currently recruiting a Senior Java Engineer (Assistant Manager level) to join their Hoofddorp office in the Netherlands.
In this role, you will be responsible for high-level analysis, diagnosis, and problem-solving, assessing product suitability, and defining customer support requirements. You will also be responsible for ensuring internal and external compliance (including J-SOX and licensing).
The ideal candidate should have experience in project management and progress monitoring, a hands-on mentality, and at least 6 years of experience in IT.
This position is expected to be a future IT Manager.
TYPE: Full-time, Initially 1 year contract (with potential for extension)
WORKING HOURS: 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
SALARY: €60k - €90k per annum, depending on experience (including 13th bonus and holiday allowance)
START: ASAP
LOCATION: Hoofddorp, Netherlands (Office-based, Working from home is possible as long as this has been discussed with the section manager)

Senior Java Engineer Main Responsibilities:
● Assure uninterrupted ICT services EU wide
● Manage projects and monitor progress
● Prepare and/or attend project meetings
● Analyse user requirements
● Develop new system designs and test plans
● Secure knowledge transfer
● Liaise/consult with users and provide technical consultancy
● Discuss priorities with (delegated) system owners and manager
● Provide technical consultancy
● Check if solutions meet the user requirements and developed programs meet the company objectives
● Register all user requirements
Senior Java Engineer Ideal Candidate:
● At least 6 years of experience in IT and a hands-on mentality
● Experience in managing projects and monitoring their progress
● Bachelor's degree in Information Technology
● Strong leadership and management skills
● Analytical mind and negotiation skills
● Good communication skills
● Good verbal and written English (Dutch language is advantageous)
● Knowledge of Unix/Linux environments on AWS and Java and Oracle, VM-ware, Windows, networking (hard- and software), MS365, firewalls, mobile communication
● Knowledge of IBM iSeries environment, DB2/400 database is an advantage
