A well-established Japanese trading house is currently looking for a Japanese speaking Steel Trader to join their busy and growing Steel Department in their Amsterdam Branch. This role will require 2-3 years of sales experience.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to advance their career within the company.
TYPE: Full-time 12-month contract to start, to become permanent
WORKING HOURS: 9:00-17:00 from Monday to Friday *Currently, hybrid working style, working in office 3 days a week
SALARY: €3,500- €4,000 per month depending on experience, plus good benefits (travel fee, health insurance)
LOCATION: Amsterdam - the Netherlands
RESPONSIBILITIES:
・ Visiting suppliers & customers worldwide and build good relationship
・ Conducting negotiation on buying and selling activities (e.g. price, specification and delivery conditions)
・ Collaborating with admin for documentations, transport, shipping, and insurance arrangements
・ Exploring new customers, projects in various countries & industries including supply chain establishment
・ Setting up new credit line by analysing financial reports
・ Monitoring market trend, industrial index, price movement to seek business opportunities worldwide
・ Resolving claims and complaints with technical & commercial approach
・ Attending internal & external visitors including arrangement of transportations and accommodations
・ Understanding the team’s sales targets and set up your own goals
・ Daily reporting to manager
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
・ Minimum 2–3 years of sales experience (experience at a Japanese company is a plus)
・ Conversational level of Japanese
・ Business-level English
・ Right to work in the Netherlands (e.g. EU nationality or Dutch work permit)
・ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
・ Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook
・ Strong interpersonal communication skills with a customer-oriented mindset
・ Highly organized with excellent time management skills
・ Ability to work cooperatively with employees, management, and stakeholders at all levels
・ EU driving license (for business trips)
・ Prior experience in a Sales / Trader role is preferred
Preferred Skills
・ Additional language skills (especially Dutch or German)
・ Experience in international trading, with knowledge of trade terms
