Our client, a growing leader in the Asian food industry based in Amsterdam, is on the lookout for a driven and enthusiastic Sales Executive to join their expanding team. TYPE: Full-time role, initially 1 year contract (there is potential to become permanent)
WORKING HOURS: 9:00-18:00, Monday to Friday
SALARY: €3,000 – €3,500 per month, depending on experience + max. 3 months performance bonus, holiday allowance, transportation fee
START: ASAP
LOCATION: Amstelveen, the Netherlands (1 day working from home is available after the training)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Increase company revenue and profit, by independently managing assigned clients, ensuring client retention and driving business development
- Maintain and increase sales/gross profit of assigned clients with a total annual sales target minimum €7million (amount may vary depending on client complexity)
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing clients
- Develop new business opportunities, including new products and clients
- Propose both existing and newly developed products to clients
- Coordinate with purchasing and logistics teams to ensure smooth product supply
- Communicate effectively with clients, group companies, warehouses, freight forwarders, and transport companies
- Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities
- Receive and arrange orders, among others, to check orders from clients, draft and send shipping instructions, check products to be shipped
- Prepare and send invoices
- Make and maintain merchandise labels
- Manage accounts receivable and follow up with clients as needed
- Business trips (at least once a month)
- Attend trade shows
- Other tasks related to sales and purchase activities, such as filing and sending out documents and making lists in Excel and/or Word etc
IDEAL CANDIDATE:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in B2B sales
- Excellent communication skills
- Business-level English is mandatory
- Proficiency in Dutch or Mandarin is an advantage
- Understanding of Japanese culture and/or Japanese language is a plus
- Holding a full, clean driving licence is required
- Experience in the food industry, especially with seasonal or commodity products, is appreciated
- Availability to start working within April would be an advantage.
- Background in commodity sales to factories (including existing connections in the factory channel) would be highly valued
