An international company is currently recruiting a Laboratory Technician to support its laboratory operations in the Netherlands.
The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for microbiological testing, PCR and DNA-based analysis, laboratory procedures, and reporting. The role also involves supporting fermentation-related testing and maintaining accurate laboratory records.
The ideal candidate should have a background in life sciences, microbiology, or food science, with approximately 3 years of practical laboratory experience, particularly in microbiological testing and PCR analysis.

Main Responsibilities:
• Conduct microbiological testing and laboratory analysis of company products
• Perform PCR testing and DNA-based analysis
• Carry out fermentation-related laboratory procedures and testing
• Prepare samples, conduct experiments, and accurately record results
• Analyse laboratory data and prepare reports and technical documentation
• Maintain laboratory hygiene standards, procedures, and records
• Support day-to-day laboratory operations and improvements
Ideal Candidate:
• Degree or equivalent educational background in Life Sciences, Microbiology, Food Science, Animal Science, Veterinary Science, or a related field
• Approximately 3 years of relevant laboratory experience
• Hands-on experience in microbiological testing, including food or feed hygiene
• Practical experience with PCR testing and DNA analysis
• Strong attention to detail, accurate data recording, and mathematical skills, including logarithmic calculations
• Business level of fluency in English (Dutch is not required)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Conditions:
• Location: the Netherlands * The exact location will be provided upon application.
• Working Style: hybrid (minimum 3 days per week in the laboratory)
• Salary: €50,000–€60,000 per annum depending on experience
• Job Type: initial 1-year fixed-term contract, with potential to become permanent
• Working Hours: approximately 9:00–16:00 (TBC)
• Start: January 2027 onwards
• Benefits: TBC
