A subsidiary of a Japanese trading company in Turkey is currently looking for an Accounts Administrator for the Administration Department.
The Accounts Administrator has overall responsibility for the management of accounting and finance of the Istanbul office. They will answer directly to the office’s General Manager.

TYPE: Permanent, full-time
WORKING HOURS: 9:00-18:00, Monday to Friday
SALARY: Up to $35,000 (USD) depending on experience, plus good benefits

Main Responsibilities:

Accounting and Tax
• Prepare, maintain and audit the internal monthly management accounts of entire Istanbul office on an in-house accounting system
• Conduct and interpret variance analysis on monthly basis and be able to discuss results with business department General Manager’s, head office and management
• Coordinate internal and external audit process and provide support to the auditors i.e. internal audit, annual accounting audit, tax audit and export/import audits
• Bookkeeping for specific businesses that require a high-level knowledge
• Management of bank reconciliation, stock reconciliation and balance confirmation.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly financial reports
• Communicate with tax advisors to resolve tax and VAT issues that arise internally
• Check and approve the monthly VAT report for Turkey office

Finance
• Active communication with banks for forward currency contract transactions, loans, bank guarantees
• Management for daily incoming/outgoing payments
• Entering into foreign exchange contracts and managing FX position
• Preparing monthly/quarterly reports (ex. FX position, Usage balance of facility limit).

Others
• Demonstrate full professional skills and knowledge and will both a trusted advisor on a particular topic and be able to develop company procedures and methods
• Uses analytical skills to develop solutions to non-routine problems


Ideal Candidate:
• Accounting experience gained within an International Commercial Environment
• Experience with Tax calculations
• Experience of dealing with Turkish VAT Returns
• Experience with financial tasks including the communication with bank
• Business level of fluency in English AND Turkish

• Intermediate/Advanced Microsoft Excel & Word skills
• Knowledge of SAP
• Ability to work to strict deadlines
• Develops strong working relationship both internally and externally
• Good book-keeping skills
• Good communication (verbal and written)
• Stability of performance when under pressure
• Ability to deal with external advisers including auditors
• Ability to assess, prioritise and manage own workload
• Provides clear and constructive feedback to others
• Ability to focus on strategic and complex issues
• Presents complex thoughts clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing
• Ability to determine major objectives and how to implement
• Ability to work within an environment of different cultures
• Experience with payroll accountant would be advantageous
