A Japanese logistics company is looking to appoint an engaged and delivery-focused Air Freight Customs Import Operator at their Amsterdam office. They offer its customers worldwide intermodal transport solutions utilizing air, ocean, and ground transport. You will work in a dynamic and international environment.

AIR FREIGHT CUSTOMS IMPORT OPERATOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Compute duties, tariffs, price conversions, weight, and volume of merchandise
exported/imported to and from foreign destinations. Expand of Vertical Markets
• Examine various documents including invoices, bills of lading, and shipping
statements to ensure compliance with federal and foreign regulations governing
the shipment, receipt, and documentation of imported/exported products
• Schedule shipments and schedule when the shipment must be picked up
• Billing and offer rates
• Always develop and maintain excellent service to internal and external
customers
• Review and monitor shipment documentation for accuracy.
• Communicate with operations manager regarding progress and problems or
issues
• Maintain a flexible work schedule including outside normal business hours and
after hours on call rotation
• Assist in staff retention and training efforts

CUSTOMS RELATED RESPONSIBILITIES
•Respond promptly to customer inquiries regarding airfreight imports, providing
accurate information and resolving issues effectively
• Coordinate with customs officials, airlines, and other stakeholders to ensure
smooth and timely clearance of import shipments
• Assist customers with documentation requirements, such as customs
declarations and import licenses, to facilitate smooth cargo handling
• Track and update customers on the status of their import shipments, including
estimated arrival times and any delays or disruptions
• Handle customer complaints and concerns with empathy and professionalism,
working towards swift resolution and customer satisfaction
• Provide proactive communication to customers, keeping them informed about
any changes or updates related to their import shipments
• Collaborate with internal teams to address customer needs, such as arranging
special handling or delivery instructions for sensitive or urgent shipments
• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, ensuring all relevant details
are documented for future reference and analysis

AIR FREIGHT CUSTOMS IMPORT OPERATOR IDEAL CANDIDATE:
