An established Japanese logistics company is currently recruiting for a Sea Freight Import & Export Clerk (Frankfurt) to work in their Frankfurt office.
In this role, you will be part of the sea freight team at the Frankfurt/Main location and responsible for the proper handling of transport.
Some understanding of Japanese culture would be advantageous.

TYPE: Permanent, full-time
WORKING HOURS: Flexible working hours (Monday to Friday)
SALARY: €42-45K per annum, depending on experience

Sea Freight Import & Export Clerk Main Responsibilities:
• Acceptance of customer orders including checking the documents in accordance with regulations and internal procedures
• Processing from A to Z of sea freight transport, primarily for import, but also for export
• Bookings and reservations of sea freight FCL and LCL
• Import customs clearance (e.g. ATLAS, AES; customs goods, special customs procedures, etc.) also export if required by the customer
• Planning and scheduling of deliveries or collections
• Preparation of all relevant transport documents
• Carrying out invoicing to the customer and cost calculations
• Tracking shipments, recognising deviations and developing customer-oriented solutions in the event of incidents
• Complaints and claims processing
• Communicating with customers, customs authorities, partners, carriers and foreign companies in German and English

Sea Freight Import & Export Clerk Ideal Candidate:
• Experience in working for forwarding and logistics services or comparable
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in the field of sea freight import
• Knowledge of customs clearance - import favoured
• Confident in using the common MS Office programmes and also Atlas
• Commitment, sense of responsibility and independence
• Organisational, flexibility, good communication and teamwork skills as well as customer and service orientation
• Good written and spoken German and good English skills
• Some understanding of Japanese culture would be advantageous
