An international Locomotive company is currently looking for a Commissioning Engineer to join their site in Aachen, Germany. You will be responsible for analysing and documenting test requirements, carrying out system tests and commissioning, as well as troubleshooting and maintaining locomotives and their subsystems.
Fluency in German and English is required for this role.
TYPE: Permanent, full-time
SALARY: Up to €100k gross
LOCATION: Aachen, Germany - with potential to move in the future (flexibility in relocation is essential for this role)
HOURS: 40 hours a week, day shifts
Commissioning Engineer Responsibilities:
• Requirement analysis and documentation: responsible for recording and analysing the test requirements of locomotives and their subsystems
• Creating test instructions and detailed test reports
• Commissioning and system tests
• Carry out tests on locomotives and locomotive systems to ensure that they are functioning properly
• Commissioning rail vehicles and checking the test systems
• Troubleshooting, inspection, and maintenance
• Being on hand when errors occur
• Diagnose and fix problems with the systems
• Carry out inspections of the subsystems and the entire locomotive, often in cooperation with customers
• Collaboration and presentation: Support suppliers and work closely with them
• Present the results of your work both internally and externally. This can be in the form of reports, presentations or design reviews
Commissioning Engineer Ideal Candidate:
• A background in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
• Ability to relocate around Germany when required is essential
• Experience in working with locomotives or similar industry
• Experience in managing contractors, tradespeople, or service partners
• Knowledge of reports, test requirements, systems, and engineering
• Fluency in German and English, at least B2 level
• Strong presentation and communication skills
