A Japanese manufacturer is currently recruiting a Accounting & Finance Director to work in their office in Amsterdam.
In this role you will be responsible for overseeing tax compliance, corporate strategy, internal controls, audits, stakeholder communications, team management, and financial regulation compliance.
The ideal candidate should have 5+ years’ experience in the similar role, and work experience in international companies is a plus.

TYPE: Full-time, Initially 1 year contract (There is potential for extension)
WORKING HOURS: 9:00-17:00 from Monday to Friday
SALARY: €150k gross + bonus and benefits (including company car)
LOCATION: Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Accounting & Finance Director Main Responsibilities:
• Lead corporate strategy, budgeting, and forecasting
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and laws
• Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize liabilities
• Manage international tax matters
• Drive business planning with financial insights
• Oversee USSOX/JSOX compliance and internal control systems
• Enhance controls to mitigate risks and improve efficiency
• Liaise with Big Four audit firms for annual audits
• Communicate with stakeholders to resolve financial issues
• Mentor and manage the accounting and finance team
• Provide training and set performance goals
• Monitor and ensure compliance with financial regulations
• Develop policies to mitigate risks and ensure compliance

Accounting & Finance Director Ideal Candidate:
• Experience in leading an administrative department (Accounting/Finance/HR/Legal /IT, etc.) with 50+ subordinates and 5+ years in this role
• Accounting/Finance hands-on practice in industry (distributor, manufacturers are preferred)
• Tax compliance, tax strategy, international taxes experience
• Corporate strategy planning, budgeting, forecasting, and business planning skill
• Internal control (USSOX or JSOX experience is a plus) experience
• ERP software hands-on experience (Microsoft D365 is preferred)
• Work experience in international companies is a plus
• Leadership, mentorship, and team management skills
• CPA or equivalent knowledge of Financial & Accounting preferred
• Able to communication with Big-four audit firm and internal/external stakeholders to solve problems/conflict
• Analytical and strategic skills
• Language (excellent English skill is a must, Dutch is a plus)
• Regulations/compliance knowledge (CSRD, CBAM, and any other European regulations)
