A Japanese international trading company is currently recruiting for an Accounting Manager. Based in Dusseldorf, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for leading the accounting team, managing closing processes, ensuring VAT compliance, preparing financial reports, collaborating with auditors, and reporting to the CFO.
Business level English or higher is required for this position.
Understanding of Japanese / German knowledge and language would be advantageous.

Accounting Manager Main Responsibilities:
• Participate in monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes
• Lead and manage the accounting department (4 team members)
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of VAT returns and other local declarations
• Prepare financial reporting to parent company in Japan
• Collaborate closely with external consultants and auditors
• Communication with other departments
• Report to Chief Financial Officer

Accounting Manager Ideal Candidate:
• Good Business Level in English skill (Speak, Read and Write)
• Completed commercial training or a comparable degree, preferably training as a tax clerk, ideally with further training as a financial accountant or a degree with a focus on accounting and controlling
• Several years of professional experience in financial accounting, preferably working experience at accounting firm
• In-depth working knowledge of VAT in EU countries, such as DE, GB, IT, PL, CZ, HU
• Good IT skills with accounting software, especially with SAP ERP
• Experienced handling of common MS Office applications, especially Excel
• Independent, responsible, structured and careful way of working
• Communication and teamwork skills
• Japanese / German knowledge and language skills would be advantageous
