A Japanese manufacturer based in Munich is currently recruiting a Business Development Representative to join their small team and to expand their presence in the academic sector, primarily engaging with university professors.
In this role, you will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, building relationships, and driving sales growth within leading research institutions.
An understanding of Japanese working culture, as well as some proficiency in Japanese would be an advantage.

Business Development Representative Main Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute a targeted business development strategy to engage university professors and research institutions
• Identify and cultivate relationships with key decision-makers in academia, including professors and research heads
• Promote vacuum pump solutions
• Work closely with internal teams, including sales, marketing, and product development, to align business strategies with market needs
• Attend academic conferences, trade shows, and networking events to build brand awareness and generate leads
• Provide technical presentations
• Manage the full sales cycle, from lead generation to contract negotiation and after-sales support
• Monitor market trends and competitor activity


Business Development Representative Ideal Candidate:
• Business level of fluency in German and English
• Japanese language skill is advantageous
• Sales experience is advantageous
• Willingness to travel to universities, conferences, and industry events as required
• Having strong communication skill
• Having high level of accountability and responsibility
• Being proactive and having solution-oriented mindset
• Being able to handle multi-tasks under a fast-paced environment
• Some understanding of Japanese culture and Japanese language would be advantageous
