A Japanese global logistics company is currently recruiting a HR Admin & Payroll Staff to join their office near Amsterdam.
The HR Admin & Payroll Officer will manage the payroll department of a business.
You will assist with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the human
resources functions & duties, and will oversee & supervise the organizations
payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with
government regulations. Your duties also include issuing employee pay and auditing the
payroll. It includes administrative areas such as office management, facilities
management, and policy development.

TYPE: Permanent, full-time
WORKING HOURS: Monday to Friday, flexible, Core times 9:00 – 16:30 (8 hours + 30 minutes break)
SALARY: €3,500 – 4,300 per month, depending on experience, plus good benefits
START: ASAP
LOCATION: Amsterdam, The Netherlands (Office based)

HR Admin & Payroll Officer Main Responsibilities:
• Absence(sickness)/holiday registration in cooperation with General affairs
• The care of the business rules and procedure
• Prepare timesheets/holiday (absence) sheets
• The preparation and implementation of the procedures of expats (work and residence permits, housing etc)
• The administration of pensions and insurance
• Contacts with the health insurance
• HR correspondence assisting with the day-to-day efficient operation of the HR office, maintaining employee files and the HR filing system
• Safety of the workforce
• Maintains payroll information by designing systems, directing the collection, calculation, and entering of data
• Updates payroll records by reviewing and approving changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job titles, and department/ division transfers
• Pays employees by directing the production and issuance of pay checks or electronic transfers to bank accounts
• Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and non-taxable wages
• Determines payroll liabilities by approving the calculation of employee federal and state income and social security taxes, and employer’s social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments
• Balances the payroll accounts by resolving payroll discrepancies
• Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests
• Maintains payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures
• Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions
• Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
• Completes operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results
• Maintains payroll staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees
• Maintains payroll staff job results by counselling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

HR Admin & Payroll Staff Ideal Candidate:
• Previous experience in HR and Payroll in the Netherlands
• Able to work on own initiative

• Highly numerate and able to calculate, check or understand and assist on all Payroll related tasks
• Experience of working with confidential information
• Pragmatic problem-solving ability

• Business level of fluency in both Dutch and English
• Outstanding knowledge of Word & Excel
